We have just returned from Pontoon Bridge Hotel this weekend, it is a fantastic hotel, location, staff, rooms, there is nothing to fault this hotel, i would highly recommend anyone looking to get away from it all, that this be there destination, nestled between two lovely lakes, it is set in a most beautiful location, staff are so friendly in the hotel also which makes the place so unique......we will definitely be returning again to this hotel....."  Tripadvisor Customer

Our 5th visit to Pontoon Bridge Hotel did not disappoint. We were greeted and treated by the wonderful Natalie at reception like family members returning home for the holidays, we have known Natalie since our first visit to Pontoon Bridge Hotel and her kindness, helpfulness and professionalism is only surpassed by her warm and bubbly personality. She instantly makes you feel at home and nothing is any trouble. This family run hotel is managed by the charming, capable, efficient and friendly Breeta Geary whose priority is the guest's comfort and enjoyment , she takes a genuine interest in all her patrons, return visits she expressly appreciates but equally every guest is as important as the next. We particularily enjoy the wonderful food at Pontoon Bridge, we enjoyed a memorable dinner in the Twin Lakes restaurant, comprising of locally sourced ingredients which was well executed, and we had the pleasure of meeting a new member on the team since our last visit, a very helpful and pleasant young man named Lorcan. We were fortunate enough to be allocated the Glass Island suite (the staff are happy to upgrade if the suite is available)..the view is simply breathtaking, and the suite boasts all the creature comforts...four poster bed, sitting room, spotless bathroom complete with jacuzzi bath, and a very large balcony, when weather permitting, one can sit and soak up the fabulous postcard like scenery, the beautiful Glass Island and the two lakes. A visit to Pontoon Bridge is not complete without a visit to the bar where a roaring fire and a very warm welcome awaits from the very hospitable Walter the senior bar man. We have also known Walter from our first visit to Pontoon Bridge, a true gentleman,and he makes every guest feel special and welcome.Pontoon Bridge offers fantastic value for money breaks, and there is also lots to do, there is a cookery school on site, fishing, painting, golf, hill walking,and also the beautiful scenery of Mayo to explore, at weekends there is live music in the bar, and this very romantic setting is highly popular for weddings, so whether coming overseas or overland, Pontoon Bridge Hotel is a real find, because perhaps like our experience of going there you will find "No strangers there just friends you have not met" Collette Donegal
