In a setting of unparalleled beauty, the Pontoon School of Landscape Painting is directed by Pat Goff and located on the shores of Lough Conn.

School dates are set by our painters requests and requirements throughout the season, so please contact us directly to join in or create your own programme. Our One Day Painting Course costs €95 per person.

Our painting classes in Mayo, Ireland are designed to cater for both the experienced painter and the beginner. Tuition is given on an individual and group basis, with particular attention being directed towards the special needs or artistic aims of participants. Tuition is given out of doors which adds to the enjoyment, but if the weather is not suitable for outside work, the studio is used for demonstrations and lectures.

Course Director Pat Goff runs the school on our Mayo Hotel campus in the art studio, which is overlooking Lough Conn.  The various mediums of painting are used; watercolours, pastels, acrylics and oils.  Most of the landscapes are painted out and about on site in the magnificant Pontoon area. However if weather is poor, it will take place indoors in the Painting School. The basic materials are provided such as turps, linseed oil, white spirit, cloths, bottles, easels and much more. It is good advice to bring some of your own equipment as you may learn more about it.
